Overview
Common in cold and sinus medications, decongestants can act like stimulants in pets, raising heart rate and blood pressure and risking tremors or seizures. Combination cold medicines frequently add other hazards (acetaminophen, antihistamines, ibuprofen).

Agitation, panting, fast heart rate, tremors, seizures, vomiting
Typical onset
30 minutes–4 hours
Formulations
"D" versions (decongestant) vs non-decongestant look similar on the shelf — read labels carefully.
