These drugs can drop blood sugar rapidly in pets, causing weakness, tremors, seizures, and collapse. Risk is time-sensitive — waiting at home can be dangerous.
Symptoms
Wobbling, drooling, seizures, weakness, hunger then collapse
Typical onset
30 minutes–12 hours
Formulations
Combination pills may include other antidiabetics.
What to do
Emergency care — hypoglycemia can be life-threatening.
