Daffodils — toxicity in dogs and cats
Call your vetApplies to: dogs and cats.
Overview
Daffodils (Narcissus) are toxic to pets, with the highest toxin concentrations in the bulbs. Dogs are often exposed while digging up bulbs in gardens. Bulb ingestion can cause more severe vomiting and abdominal pain than leaf or flower exposure and may affect heart rhythm in larger doses. Early decontamination can reduce complications.
Symptoms
Vomiting, drooling, diarrhea, abdominal pain
Typical onset
