Overview

Iron tablets are corrosive to the gastrointestinal tract and can cause systemic toxicity in larger ingestions. Early signs often include severe vomiting and abdominal pain, sometimes with blood. In serious cases, iron poisoning can progress to liver injury and shock after a short improvement phase. Bring bottle strength and tablet count to help your vet estimate risk quickly.

Vomiting (possibly bloody), diarrhea, abdominal pain, lethargy
