Overview

Peace lilies cause oral irritation due to calcium oxalate crystals and are painful but usually not kidney-toxic like true lilies. Pets may drool, gag, and paw at their mouth immediately after chewing leaves. Signs are often dramatic but short-lived with supportive care. Persistent vomiting, refusal to drink, or ongoing pain should prompt an exam.
