Overview

Raw or undercooked meat can expose pets to bacterial pathogens (such as Salmonella, Campylobacter, or E. coli) and occasionally parasites. Most mild cases cause short-term gastrointestinal upset, but young, elderly, or immunocompromised pets can become significantly ill.
