Overview
These products often stack multiple actives (acetaminophen, decongestants, antihistamines, cough suppressants, alcohol). Pets are small and metabolize many of these differently than people. One wrong assumption about “just one tablet” can be dangerous.
Symptoms
Variable: sedation, agitation, vomiting, wobbliness, heart rhythm effects
Typical onset
30 minutes–8 hours
Formulations
“DM”, “Night”, “Severe”, and store brands can differ widely.
